New York City based H.T. Chen & Dancers is an innovative modern dance company which has created a uniquely Asian-American expression by embodying its cultural heritage. The Company's dynamic technique, which infuses Western modern dance with the strength and beauty of Asian aesthetics, has enchanted audiences across the United States, Europe and Asia since its inception in 1978.
Highlights of recent residencies and performances include: La MaMa Annex Theatre (New York City) The Joyce Theater (New York City), The Dance Center of Columbia College (Chicago), Miami-Dade Community College (Miami), The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington DC), Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors (New York City), Taipei Theater (New York City), Theater Artaud (San Francisco), and Painted Bride Arts Center (Philadelphia). International touring has included two European tours and seven Asian tours to China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
