Pentacle has developed and administered educational programming in New York City public schools since 1988. Pentacle's Educational Programming empowers students to combine their passion for dance with academic skills to pursue careers in the arts. Pentacle continues to work with students so that they may remain connected to the arts throughout their academic and professional lives, ensuring a strong foundation for tomorrow's dance community.
Pentacle's Behind the Scenes curriculum introduces middle and high school students to the professional dance world, with an emphasis on the non-performing and business elements, through the experience of producing a public dance concert. 2007-2008 marks the fifth year of Pentacle's partnership with Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Queens, third year with Washington Irving High School in Manhattan and the second year with the Bronx Dance Academy.
College students benefit from Pentacle's Exploring Opportunities program, which fills an important gap in the college dance curriculum by offering students practical advice on surviving and thriving in the professional world. Pentacle has partnered with the Hunter College Dance Program for three years.
