When is the internship program offered?
There are three sessions per year…spring, summer, and fall. Exact dates are announced on the website prior to each session.

How long is each session?
Each session is 8 weeks long.

How many hours per week do the interns commit to the company?
Each intern will commit 10 hours to their assigned company. In addition, interns attend weekly training seminars that take place in the evening and are 2.5 hours long.

Interns

How do I apply for the program?
To Apply: Please submit your cover letter (optional), resume, and completed Intern Questionnare to Alex M Schell at education@pentacle.org.

Do I need to be a dancer to apply?
This is an arts administration internship, so you are not required to physically dance. However, in ideal circumstances intern applicants have a passion for dance and/or the arts.

Can I intern for more than 8 weeks?
Yes. Upon completing your 8 week session, you will have the option to apply for an extension of your internship.

Is this internship paid or unpaid?
This is an unpaid internship. College credit is available upon request.

Can I intern at the Pentacle office?
Yes. You have the potential of being matched with one of our participating dance artists/organizations or at the Pentacle office. Pentacle usually takes about 1-2 interns per session.

Companies

Is there a fee for artists/organizations to participate?
Yes. Please contact Clarissa Soto at clarissas@pentacle.org for further details.

Can companies ask for more than 1 intern?
Yes. Please be sure to make note of this on your Company Questionnaire.

Will there be a Pentacle staff member available to assist in developing an intern work plan?
Yes. There are three Pentacle staff members who are devoted to the success of you and your intern during your time with CLD. They will be there throughout the entire internship, helping you to devise and carry out the most efficient Work Plan.
