Welcome to the new season - our 36th!

We are pleased to announce our 2012-13 artists. And this year four of our companies are eligible for NDP Tour Support! -see details below.

Our booking team has expanded! Angela has relocated to our Chicago office where she will continue to represent a group of our artists. And we are extremely happy to welcome a new Artist Representative within the Booking Department: Lauren Nixon. Lauren will work with most of the Metropolitan Intersections artists and with the Roster company, Lucky Plush Productions.  She holds an M.A. in Arts Politics from New York University and a B.A. in Dance and Culture/Media Studies from The New School. Outside of working for Pentacle, Lauren is a Pushcart Prize-nominated poet. You may contact her at 212 278.8111 ext. 305 or laurenn@pentacle.org

We will all attend the Fall Booking Conferences and look forward to seeing you.

Please visit our website for details and updates on our Roster and Metropolitan Intersections Artists and The Gallery. As always, there is much to be discovered.

Sincerely,

Ivan Sygoda, Sophie Myrtil-McCourty, Lauren Nixon, Angela Luem and Doug Post

Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion

Set in Pittsburgh's historically black neighborhoods, Homewood and the Hill District, Boyz n the Hood pays homage to the bold high-top fade era in Hip-Hop, while creating an emotional chronology of a culture conflicted with a history plagued by discrimination and genocide. Call or email Sophie at 212.278.8111 ext 313 or sophiem@pentacle.org for more information.

Camille Brown & Dancers

In her new untitled work, Camille A. Brown & Dancers will uncover the untold and seldom told stories of the first generation of African-Americans to grace the stages of Broadway. Call or email Lauren at 212.278.8111 ext 305 or laurenn@pentacle.org for more information.

Lucky Plush Productions

The Better Half is a fresh and present work that captures the claustrophobia and escapist tendencies in contemporary marriage through a language that is funny, emotional, intelligent and intensely physical. Call or email Lauren at 212.278.8111 ext 305 or laurenn@pentacle.org for more information.

Reggie Wilson/Fist & Heel Performance Group

Grounded in Zora Neale Hurston's novel, Moses, Man of the Mountain, and with exploratory travels to Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Mali, (project) Moseses Project looks at the migration of peoples and culture out of Africa and into the rest of the world. Please note that this project is available for touring in 13/14. Call or email Sophie at 212.278.8111 ext 313 or sophiem@pentacle.org for more information.
