"Participating in the Cultivating Leadership in Dance Internship Program solidified my desire to work in arts
administration."
CULTIVATING LEADERSHIP IN DANCE provides an unparalleled opportunity
for interns to work with vibrant and emerging choreographers and companies
while participating in a
structured internship program. The intern
will enter the field of arts administration with a network
of peers and information specific to the small and medium size companies of NYC's professional dance community. The company will benefit
from the energy and ideas of the intern and Pentacle's expertise in serving the
infrastructure needs of artists.
Participation
will include:
- Creation of an
individualized work plan developed by Pentacle, the intern and the
company
- Ongoing monitoring of the
progress of the company and intern partnership
- Weekly training and enrichment
workshops for the intern
- An evaluation of the
effectiveness of the internship for both the company and intern
The program will take place over 8 weeks: January 19 - March 12,
2010. Interns should be working with the company at least 10 hours a week. Workshops will be 6:00 - 9:00pm once a week, day TBD. Evening activities may
take place during the course of the internship.
The company may already have an internship posting up or have
identified an intern. If the company has not posted for or selected an
intern, Pentacle will help develop a posting and recruit an intern. The company
will be responsible for the final interview and selection process.
Please
contact Eveline Chang, Director of Educational Programming, at evelinec@pentacle.org to
