Cultivating Leadership in Dance Internship Program

Pentacle recently completed its Winter 2010 cycle, pairing eleven dance companies and independent artists with emerging arts administrators. The eight-week program brought the interns together for weekly workshops with guest speakers from Career Transition for Dancers, Keigwin + Company, ZviDance,  Elisa Monte Dance, Ballet Hispanico, and RIOULT. Pentacle was also fortunate to award several scholarships for the interns to attend  Dance/NYC's Mid-Season Symposium Feb 5-6. Thank you to our speakers, Dance/NYC and its Youth Advisory Committee!

Intern Profile: David Claps
David

David is a senior in The Ailey School/Fordham University BFA in Dance program and is currently working for Pentacle's booking department, focusing on the US tour of Nrityagram Dance Ensemble.

"What's unique about the Cultivating Leadership in Dance program is its educational aspect; all interns meet for weekly seminars on different arts administration topics, such as marketing and individual giving. It's also a great chance to touch base with the other participants and find out what they're getting out of their internship experience."
We have more exciting announcements soon to come - please keep a look out for our next newsletter!
