"It's been exciting to see these talented artists apply their energy and creativity to strategic
career planning as well as artistic work." Ivan Sygoda, Project Coordinator

ARC . Advancement, Reinvention and Creativity encourages single choreographer dance companies to plan and implement initiatives that foster career progress. ARC aims to meld the creativity and energy of these talented dance-makers with the experience and real-world perspective of a team of seasoned strategists. The expected result is to effect positive and sustainable career change specific to the artist's context and consistent with their artistry.

In keeping with Pentacle's mission and history of inaugurating visionary projects and delivering vital services to dance-makers, ARC serves artists who are among the most challenged institutionally and often the most challenging aesthetically. ARC's planning protocol encourages artists to identify a major programmatic or organizational goal and provides them with strategic planning and implementation support to achieve that goal.

Eighty New York based artists were invited to submit proposals outlining a project that would advance their careers. Ten projects were selected by a process that included:

A peer artist review
Technical assistance
A review by experienced organizational planners
