Greetings Friends and Colleagues,
With 2009's Arts Presenters and ISPA conferences around the corner, we thought we would take a moment to let you know where you can find Pentacle this January.
APAP AT THE HILTON
Artist Rep resentatives Ivan Sygoda, Sophie Myrtil-McCourty, Michelle Coe and Ben Pryor will be at booth # 200 in the Rhinelander Gallery at the Hilton. We will have showcase
schedules and information about the touring repertories of all of our artists. Be sure to come by and say hello!
ISPA AT THE TIMES CENTER
Roster Artist Nora Chipaumire will be discussing her new project lions will roar, swans will fly, angels will wrestle heaven, rains will break: gukurahundi at the ISPA Pitch Session. gukurahundi is an hour-long multi-disciplinary performance featuring contemporary/African solo dance artist Nora Chipaumire (a two-time
Bessie Award winner), legendary Zimbabwean musicians Thomas Mapfumo & The Blacks Unlimited, and video artist Joelle Dietrick. gukurahundi explores the migrant experience within and outside of Africa and examines how Africa is
portrayed, or "packaged" to a western, globalized world. Integrating movement, live music, and projected video imagery, gukurahundi presents a new way to see, hear, and experience Africa. gukurahundi has received support from The National Dance Project with US tour subsidies available in 09/10.
Find out more during the ISPA Pitch session on Wednesday, January 14 at 10:00 am at The Times Center (242 West 41st Street).
You can find Sophie Myrtil-McCourty and Michelle Coe at the ISPA ProEx following the Pitch Session at 11:30 am at The Times Center.
THANK YOU
We and our artists are grateful for the time you are willing to share with us at the
conferences.
We look forward to seeing you,
Happy Holidays!
Ivan, Sophie, Michelle & Ben

PENTACLE'S ROSTER ARTISTS SHOWCASE
Don't miss Pentacle's Roster Artists Showcase on Friday, January 9
This eclectic evening of work features artists from Israel, New York, Zimbabwe,
Pittsburgh, the Congo, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles via Cuba! Their works explore interpersonal
relationships with emotional resonance in contemporary and modern ballet, the integration of dance and technology through digital animation and motion capture technologies, sultry salsa with a political pulse, ancestral influences on modern pathology,
the alienation of exile in an increasingly borderless word, and UFOs crashing
in your hometown!
Our program repeats so you can enter at any point in the cycle and see the whole thing!
Wine and hors d'oeuvres are available throughout the evening with opportunities to meet the artists at 10:40 pm. See performance schedule below.
