Amanda Szeglowski / cakeface presenting Stairway to Stardom
With crackling wit and startling honesty, Amanda Szeglowski and the womxn of cakeface serve up a silver-sequined dissection of the American Dream. Synthesizing razor-sharp choreography and a poker-faced delivery of original text, the cast shatters the facade of "making it." Featuring sound and visuals from electronic duo Prism House and clips from the 80s cult-favorite New York public access TV show of the same name, “Stairway to Stardom” honors the contributions of the wildly passionate but questionably talented among us.

The artists in this showcase participated in last year's Tour Ready Lab, and are showcasing in 2026 as alumni.
Tour Ready Lab works with choreographers, dance companies, and multidisciplinary performing artists who seek to increase their understanding of how to tour work outside their home base, create or refine their touring assets, maximize their conference experiences, and showcase during the APAP Conference in New York City.
Artists showcasing through TRL are independently represented, and are not a part of Pentacle's Roster. Each TRL artist has their own booking contact information and should be contacted directly.
