Our Education & Outreach mission is to facilitate a broad understanding of both performance and nonprofit career possibilities for youth. The In-School Program instructs youth in dance while inspiring them to explore a range of careers in the arts. Our Community Programs in disadvantaged NYC neighborhoods provide exposure to dance and leaders from the field to nurture professional development. The Career Development programs give high school students, college students, and graduates work experience, mentorship, professional development seminars, and a peer network of colleagues.
Pentacle’s Education & Outreach programs are supported, in part, by public funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. Pentacle receives private support for its Education & Outreach programs from the Howard Gilman Foundation, Con Edison, The Hyde and Watson Foundation, The Lotos Foundation, the West Harlem Development Corporation, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, the Harkness Foundation for Dance, and the NYU Community Fund.
