Conference banners

A tall, narrow, retractable banner showcases six Roster artists in horizontal rectangular frames. At the top of the banner, the Pentacle logo is placed on top of red text reading “THE ROSTER” against a black background. The artists execute various action poses — bending backwards, leaning sideways, jumping in midair, holding present stillness. In each of the photos, white text reads the company’s names in the upper right corner.

A quartet of Ephrat Asherie Dance dancers explodes upward against a light gray background. Ephrat Asherie, a woman in a red shirt and khaki pants, leaps with her legs crossed. Teena-Marie Custer hits a deep sideways arch in her back, caressing her hand to her face as she turns her eyes upward. She wears an all beige outfit with a red stripe up the side of her pants. Ron Chunn, a man donning a pink button-up and black pants, takes a step forward with his arms downward to the side as his left leg flares up behind him. Moglii, a man with a brown jacket, levitates on one hand. He faces upward as he kicks his both legs; his body perpendicular to the ground.

Three Nrityagram dancers create the same pose on a dark stage. They’re left legs angling behind them in the air, they create sharp angles with their arms that frame the faces. They lean slightly in their right hip as they turn their eyes down ward and to the right. All three women don lush red pattasaris, draping flowing dresses adorned with accents of gold and white.

Kayla Hamilton stands on a reflective strip of silver, chin lifted as she arches her torso backwards, arms curved in front of her chest. Alice Sheppard sits on one end of the silver floor, torso folded into her own lap. Laurel Lawson lays on their back at the other end of the silver. Alice is a multiracial Black woman with short curly blonde hair; Kayla is a Black woman with shoulder length locs; Laurel is a white person with cropped hair. All three dancers wear dark shimmery bodysuits, a detailed video projection of a huge luminescent moon and a dense forest drenched in hues of cool blues and rich purples fills the background.

The full RUBBERBAND company perform on a brilliant pink-purple stage clad in similar two-piece costumes in black, gray, and white. They each hold a similar position, their left legs extended behind them in a soft yet extended bend. The center dancer in black peers directly to the camera - confident and present.

Two copies of Myrna Packer and Art Bridgman populate a single image hoisted in the grey walls of an abandoned factory. Myrna Packer, a female dancer with auburn hair lunges, with her hand behind a wall, while another copy of her clings to a wall and faces an open door. Art Bridgman, a man with blond hair, faces away from the camera in midair, while another copy of him peers behind an open door frame.

The full company of Versa-Style Street Dance Company, a group of racially diverse, cisgender dance artists wearing colorful clothing in a dark studio. Each dancer is in a unique action pose, with the back row jumping up with arms extended and the front row in various contorted body placements with arms extending.
