Pentacle’s Arts Administration Internship Program seeks individual artists and artistic entities who are interested in expanding their administrative capacity through a structured internship program.
The upcoming Internship Program session takes place February 23-May 15, 2026. During this session, interns will work directly with their matched arts entities from March 23-May 15. Applications are due January 28 by 6pm ET.
If you cannot participate in the Spring 2026 session but are interested in future sessions, please submit this inquiry form to be notified when recruitment begins. Stay updated through Pentacle's newsletter and social media.
ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Through an extensive recruitment and interview process, Pentacle identifies potential interns to pair with participating artistic entities. Artistic entities are required to submit an application detailing their mission, activities, and plans for the intern, which is used to make appropriate matches.
During the program, interns gain hands-on experience in nonprofit business practices and attend 8 weekly professional development seminars led by Pentacle staff members and visiting arts professionals. Through this dual experience, interns build their hard and soft skill sets, engage more deeply with their artistic entities’ administrative projects, learn from peers, and meet industry leaders.
All artistic entities are welcome, and there is no required budget size or incorporation status.
Working with an intern through Pentacle provides a greater sense of intern commitment and accountability due to the program’s structure and Pentacle’s role as a facilitating organization. Interns will receive four weeks of educational seminars before their work with their artistic entity begins, giving them a foundation in arts administration skills and best practices.
We will be encouraging participants to abide by the current NY State guidelines regarding any in-person activities. Remote and in-person internships will be assigned based on applicant preferences. We are open to interns and artistic entities being based outside of NYC.
There is a $800 fee for participating partner artistic entities. This fee goes towards the intern's stipend, guest speaker honorariums, and administrative time from Pentacle's Career & Professional Development staff.
