For over 40 years, Pentacle has been promoting, connecting, managing and facilitating the lives and careers of a broad range of performing artists/companies who reside in the U.S. and abroad. At its core, Pentacle believes in the unique and critical role the artist citizen plays in our democracy, and that art and artists inspire people in many communities to understand, articulate and seek to attain their highest aspirations for the world.
As a responsive and trusted partner, Pentacle collaborates with performing artists to design and provide unique and robust programs of support at critical stages in their careers. At the same time, Pentacle broadens the sphere of influence performing artists can attain through cross-sector partnerships in multiple communities across NYC and the U.S.
Pentacle’s multifaceted programs include: Fiscal Services, comprised of fiscal administration and sponsorship; Booking and Representation in the national marketplace; Administrative Support services including mentorship, direct administrative support, and showcase opportunities; an Internship program pairing performing artists and organizations with young arts administrators; Education & Outreach programs giving youth the tools they need to grow into the next generation of performing artists, arts administrators, and audiences; and New Initiatives that build capacity for performing arts groups and partnerships with new, nontraditional venues for dance.
Since 1976, Pentacle has been a model in the arts administration field, enabling performing artists to focus on what they do best—create art and engage with audiences. Annually, Pentacle serves more than 270 emerging and established companies and project-based choreographers and directors who employ more than 1,000 artists; 285 youth are served through its education & outreach programs; and 1,345 audience members attend its showcases and performance events. Pentacle believes that by providing artists with the support and tools they need to thrive and make their high quality work, it helps to enrich the cultural landscape and thereby contributes to the dynamic flow of ideas so necessary for a healthy democratic society.
