Pentacle’s Career Development programs cultivate the next generation of leaders

For Small Businesses: Need an Intern?

Pentacle’s High School Internship Program seeks small businesses who are interested in expanding their administrative capacity through a structured internship program. The program matches each participating entity with a self-motivated high school intern for 5 hours/week for a period of eight weeks. The Summer 2021 session will run July 6 – August 31, 2021. The deadline for partner artistic entities to apply is Friday, June 11, 2021. Participation is FREE for small businesses. Pentacle compensates the intern with a $600 stipend.

Graphic with TestimonialThrough an extensive recruitment and interview process, Pentacle identifies potential interns and pairs members of the cohort with participating entities. Companies are required to submit an application detailing their mission, activities, and plans for the intern. This information is used to make appropriate matches.

During the program, companies’ interns gain hands-on experience in business practices and attend weekly professional development seminars led by Pentacle staff members and visiting career professionals. Through this dual experience, interns have an opportunity to build their hard and soft skill sets, learn from their peers, and meet industry leaders. Interns also receive a dedicated Mentor for the 8 week session.

Participating small businesses must have an annual budget size under $1 Million.

Working with an intern through Pentacle provides a greater sense of intern commitment and accountability due to the program’s structure and Pentacle’s role as a facilitating organization.

Remote and in-person internships will be assigned based on applicants’ preferences. The weekly seminars for interns will be held over Zoom. We are open to interns and companies outside of NYC.

WHAT YOU’LL GET:

  • Qualified intern through extensive recruitment
  • Clear work plan outlining intern responsibilities and company goals
  • 5 hours/week for 8 weeks to work with an intern
  • Mentorship and guidance from Pentacle staff, as needed

The deadline for partner small businesses to apply is Friday, June 11, 2021. There is NO fee for participating companies.
