Pentacle formed during the 1970s dance boom in New York City, and reinvented itself to become a leading management support organization sustaining the performing arts field for the next fifty years. It did so by creating models of infrastructure and management support for performing artists that hadn’t existed before. From innovative fiscal sponsorship to finding work for artists to mentorship programs, Pentacle continually adapted to serve the needs of the performing arts community throughout the cultural and economic shifts of the past half century.
