Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented number of performances and residencies were canceled. The termination of these contracts through force majeure left a number of artists without compensation or future engagements. Over this past year, Pentacle’s Director of Booking, Sandy Garcia, has joined working groups at Dance/USA and Creating New Futures who are working to re-imagine engagement contracting through a more equitable, relationship-centered lens. Sandy will lead a discussion identifying the equitable contracting principles outlined by the working groups and provide some examples on how to incorporate these principles in your own contract negotiations. This session is not a legal workshop.
