Pentacle is pleased to announce the new line-up of artists on The Roster and Metro Intersections for 2015-2016.

The Roster is made up of twelve contemporary dance companies who exemplify their respective forms. Metro Intersections is a specially curated group of artists who blend diverse cultural experiences with contemporary movement. Between them, these artists have performed across the globe, fostering deep connections with audiences and bringing light to shared human experiences.

The Roster features a plethora of high artistic talent, including: RUBBERBANDance Group (Canada) that blends a gritty street sensibility with compositional refinement; the heightened sensorial work of LeeSaar The Company; 2014 Jacob’s Pillow Awardee Dance Heginbotham; Innovative Movement Conceptualist and expert Breaker Raphael Xavier; choreographic illusionists Bridgman|Packer Dance; the authentic milonga experience of Social Tango (Argentina); the jubilant and elegant work of TU Dance; eight-time Bessie Awardee David Dorfman Dance; the enthralling physicality of DanceBrazil (Brazil); the enchanting worlds of Nrityagram Dance Ensemble (India); the experimental work of Lucy Guerin Inc (Australia); and David Roussève’s socially charged dance theater company REALITY.

The five unique and diverse artists on the Metro Intersections Roster include: the all-female contemporary Flamenco company Pasión y Arte; world renowned Kathak dancer Prashant Shah; U.S. hip hop cultural ambassadors Illstyle & Peace Productions; the unique Asian-American expression of H.T. Chen & Dancers; and the colorful Bollywood imaginings of Blue13 Dance Company.

These artists engage with audiences through their authentic artistic experiences, whether it be through urban and social dance forms, experimental physical practice, or an acute relationship to music. Often employing collaborative elements in their work, their spell-binding productions use video technology, original music, and stage design that resonates with viewers on multiple levels. Through unique residency activities, these artists extend their reach far beyond the proscenium stage to interact with local audiences and foster lasting community connections.

Pentacle’s booking/artist representative staff is headed by Harold Norris, formerly of H-Art Management who has overseen the successful touring careers of some of the world’s most esteemed contemporary dance and theatre companies. He is joined by Artist Representative Amy Miller, formerly Community Programs Manager at the Ordway; Anna Brady Nuse, Associate Director of Pentacle; and Doug Post, Artist Representative of The Gallery Roster.

Together, the booking/representation team at Pentacle is thrilled to be serving these extraordinarily talented artists, allowing them more time and opportunities to create, perform and engage with the world.
